My interest in psychology first developed (haha) in middle school as I had a lot of friends who could benefit from therapy. My desire to help those friends ignited my interest in psychology from a clinical standpoint, but it wasn't until I got to college that I realized I had a deep interest in cognition. Interestingly enough, my interest in foreign languages blossomed similarly, starting with Korean when I was in middle school and evolving into a genuine intellectual interest in college. It wasn't until the fall semester of my sophomore year that I realized the two could theoretically marry (it was another three years before I realized that I could conduct research in that intersection). I studied computer science for much more superficial reasons; I like video games and computers are ubiquitous.
When I'm not working I enjoy learning new languages, reading, embroidering, crocheting, taekwondo, being funny, playing video games, and partaking in one of my other 32 hobbies.
